Daddy’s Arms

Written by Lisa DeVinney on . Posted in poetry

Lord, I could use a hug from You, today.
Would You please send an angel down, my way?
My child, do you not know that I’m right here?
Just listen, as I whisper in your ear
And tell you just how much you mean to Me.
I’m closer than a hug could ever be.
But so you’ll feel like everything’s alright,
I’ll wrap my Daddy-arms around you, tight.
Yes, Lord, I feel it now, and I am touched
That I could have a God who cares so much,
To take this time to love and comfort me.
Lord, let my love for You forever be
A sweet aroma, rising to Your throne.
My greatest love is You, and You alone.
Yes, child, I know your heart; and I can see
You’ve found and even deeper love for Me.
"And because we are his children,
God has sent the Spirit of his Son into our hearts,
prompting us to call out, 'Abba, Father.'”
Galatians 4:6 NLT
