Parenting in Perilous Times: Tips from a Goose

Written by Lisa DeVinney on . Posted in poetry

“Are not five sparrows sold for two farthings,
and not one of them is forgotten before God?”
Luke 12:6-7
As I got on the interstate,
I saw, to my surprise,
A pair of geese and their young brood
Right there, before my eyes.
They rested on a grassy wedge
Between the busy lanes;
And didn’t seem a bit upset
By all the noise and things.
Perhaps they just weren’t very bright;
But I choose to believe
That in the care of their Creator,
They could rest in peace.
Now we, as parents, sometimes find
It hard to parent in
A world that’s swirling round about
With chaos, danger, sin.
But our Creator offers us
That peace His creatures know
When, in those times of great distress,
It’s to His feet we go;
And trust that He whose eye is on
The tiniest of birds
Will also be there for the child
Who’s trusting in His Word.
“casting all your care upon Him,
for He cares for you.”
1 Peter 5:7 NKJV

Hey I know this is off topic but I was wondering if you knew of any
widgets I could add to my blog that automatically tweet my newest twitter updates.

I've been looking for a plug-in like this for quite some time
and was hoping maybe you would have some experience with something like
this. Please let me know if you run into anything.
I truly enjoy reading your blog and I look forward to your new updates.

I do wish I could be of some help. But I'm afraid I don't know any more than you. I just do things the slow way, posting at both places individually. But yes, I do believe there's a way to make it automatic. Hope you find someone who can help. Thanks for stopping by to read. :roll:
