“And it came to pass, when Joshua was by Jericho,
that he lifted his eyes and looked, and behold,
a Man stood opposite him with His sword drawn in His hand.
And Joshua went to Him and said to Him,
‘Are You for us or for our adversaries?’ So He said,
‘No, but as Commander of the army of the LORD I have now come.’
And Joshua fell on his face to the earth and worshiped…”

Victory is in Jesus;
All praise to Him alone!
He calls us into battle;
Enlists us at His throne.

He is our Chief Commander.
His orders we obey.
We wield swords of the Spirit;
And brandish shields of faith.

He knows the way we’re taking;
Each move carefully planned.
He knows the foe we’re facing
Will cower at His command.

We are assured the victory,
When fighting in His name.
For Joshua’s Commander
And ours is still the same!
