A Bold Approach

Written by Lisa DeVinney on . Posted in poetry

“On that day a fountain will be opened to the house of David
and the inhabitants of Jerusalem,
to cleanse them from sin and impurity.”
Zechariah 13:1 NIV

Draw near to Me with boldness;
And dwell with Me, today.
The blood from Heaven’s fountain
Has washed your sins away.

The garments you are wearing,
Once blacker than you know,
Have been dipped in that fountain,
And now are white as snow.

The fragrance of the offering
(The Lamb who took your place)
Is a sweet smelling savor
Here, in this holy place.

And since you have been buried,
Your life now hid in Him,
No longer are you bound by
The chains of death and sin.

You’re free to come and worship
Before My throne of grace.
Come boldly then, My child.
And love Me, face to face.

“…since we have confidence to enter the Most Holy Place by the blood of Jesus…
Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence,
so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us
in our time of need.”
Hebrews 10:19b, 4:16 NIV
