“If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things
which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God.
Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.
For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God.”
Colossians 3:1-3
If I am truly hidden, Lord, in Thee,
Somewhere beyond the length and breadth of space,
Then I would be content to set aside
My earthly charms, to look upon Thy face.
And, Lord, my heart would long for only Thee;
As my affections fly to things above,
Where Thou art seated on a throne of grace,
Beside the God of mercy, peace, and love.
How beautiful Thou art to me, oh Lord.
Oh hide my life forever, Lord, with Thee,
Surrounded by the arms that were outstretched
Upon a cross, to show Thy love for me.
Yes, hide me, Lord, in Thee forever more.
My life and love now look to Heaven’s shore.
