The doctor sat down…shared the news.
Not what we’d hoped to hear.
And with it came more questions, and
The panic, doubt, and fear.
Lord, what about the healing we
In faith had begged You for?
We know You are a God of love.
We’ve seen You heal before.
Then, there it was… the promised grace
And peace within the storm.
No healing touch. No spoken word.
No miracle performed,
Except the greatest there could be –
Contentment in God’s will;
A knowing that He’s in control
And that He loves us, still.
Whatever else may lie ahead
We’ll deal with as it comes;
Not clinging to our own desires,
But clinging to the One
Whose hand can heal, if He should choose,
But who will also be
Our God of grace and comfort as
We face adversity.
“Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,
the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort,
who comforts us in all our troubles,
so that we can comfort those in any trouble
with the comfort we ourselves receive from God.”
2 Corinthians 1:3-4 NIV
