On the Potter’s Wheel

Written by Lisa DeVinney on . Posted in poetry

“But when His Spirit begins to mold us, the comfort He brings
will cause us to lay quietly on the Potter’s wheel
and allow His hand to do the work.”
~ Linda Sandlin
Sit quietly upon the Potter’s wheel;
And yield, beneath His loving, skillful hand;
As tenderly He forms, within His plan,
The vessel he is longing to reveal.
Sit quietly, and feel Him work, within.
Allow the firmness of His hand to smooth
Those stubborn flaws, till they have been removed;
And you’ve become a vessel fit for Him.
Sit quietly, and see what God will do;
As in His wisdom He reshapes, restores.
And through the transformation, joy is yours.
For He has set His heart on loving you.
“Yet you, LORD, are our Father.
We are the clay, you are the potter;
we are all the work of your hand.”
Isaiah 64:8 NIV
