Autumn Reflections

Written by Lisa DeVinney on . Posted in poetry

You paint the trees in colors only Heaven could imagine,
Your loveliness replete in every hue.
The crimson red, the fiery orange, and every shade of gold
Serve only to remind the heart of You.
The crimson leaves display the depth of Your great sacrifice;
The fiery orange, Your all-impassioned gaze;
And then the golds, the richness of Your mercy and Your love;
All gathered in Your splendid fall bouquets.
And all are mirrored in the water, smooth as polished glass;
Reflecting You, for all the world to see.
Oh may I, like that peaceful pond, reflect Your glory, too,
So others notice only You, in me.
“Arise, shine, for your light has come,
and the glory of the LORD rises upon you.
…the LORD rises upon you
and his glory appears over you.”
Isaiah 60:1-2 NIV
