Fingerprints on the Doorknobs, Footprints on the Pathway

Written by Lisa DeVinney on . Posted in poetry

“Dear One: you have not gotten this far in your journey with God
without His footprints planted all over your path
and without His fingerprints all over the doorknobs to every new season.”
*Beth Moore
My Friend, if we could just go back
And dust the doorknobs of our lives,
Those knobs that opened doors to every
Changing season we survived,
Upon those knobs, we’d surely find
Our loving Savior’s fingerprints.
For He’s the One who stepped through first;
Then beckoned us to follow Him.
And if we were to then glance down,
We’d see His footprints on our path.
For He has gone ahead of us
So we could follow in His tracks.
He’s been there all along the way
To blaze the path, and open doors.
So let us, then, in faith continue
Trusting Him for even more.
“And the Lord, He is the One who goes before you.
He will be with you, He will not leave you nor forsake you;
do not fear nor be dismayed.”
Deuteronomy 31:8 NKJV
