Seeking Wisdom

Written by Lisa DeVinney on . Posted in poetry

Wisdom from You, Father,
Oh, let it fall on me.
For I can't see the way, ahead;
I'm trusting You to lead.

And though the storm is raging,
The wind would drive and toss;
I'll wait here for Your wisdom,
Beneath this empty cross.

And as I wait, Dear Father,
Please calm my doubts and fears.
I know that I can trust You,
For You are always near.

So as I seek an answer,
Oh Father, hold my hand.
For I want to be very sure
Of Your will and Your plan.

Open my eyes and heart, Lord;
Show me Your will and way.
You've said to ask for wisdom;
And that is my prayer, today.

"If any of you lacks wisdom,
let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally
and without reproach, and it will be given to him.
But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts
is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind."
James 1:5-6
