Come to Me, Child

Written by Lisa DeVinney on . Posted in poetry

Come to Me, you who are weary;
Lay down your burdens and stress.
Find in Me comfort, and refuge,
Hope, and compassion, and rest.
I know you’ve been sorely tested,
Suffering anguish and pain.
Come, fix your eyes now upon Me;
I will restore you, again.
Lean on the strength of My shoulder;
Rest in the warmth of My love.
Be still, and know I am with you,
Giving sweet peace from above.
Just for a time, let the world go.
Be with Me here, in this place.
Come to Me, child; lay your head down.
And rest in the depth of My grace.
“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened,
and I will give you rest.”
Matthew 11:28 NIV
