Wakened for Sunrise

God wakened me for sunrise.winter sunrise
‘Twas beautiful indeed
With fiery pinks and oranges
Far as the eye could see.

The sun was not yet high enough
For me to see its face.
But there a beam of blushing light
Rose radiant in its place.

And only moments later
The sun itself appeared,
Its red-orange figure rising
So warm, and bright, and clear;

Much like my radiant Savior
Whose face I may not see.
But as His light and warmth surround,
I know He’s close to me.

And in time He reveals His face,
Declaring His great love;
Assuring me I’m just the one
That He’s been thinking of.

“Then your light will break forth like the dawn,
    and your healing will quickly appear;
then your righteousness will go before you,
    and the glory of the Lord will be your rear guard.”
Isaiah 58:8 NIV
