A Work in Progress

Written by Lisa DeVinney on . Posted in poetry

Regardless of how it may look,
The Lord’s at work in me.
He’s pruning, shaping, molding into
What I ought to be.

My edges are a little rough;
He’s smoothing them with time.
And one day I’ll be just the person
That He’s had in mind.

So in the meantime, please remember
He’s not finished, yet.
I’m still a piece of softened clay
That hasn’t really set.

And if you’ll keep that thought in mind,
I’ll do the same for you.
For we are all His workmanship;
You’re a work in progress, too.

“For we are His workmanship,
created in Christ Jesus for good works,
which God prepared beforehand
that we should walk in them.”
Ephesians 2:10 NKJV
