Face Time

Written by Lisa DeVinney on . Posted in poetry

When on my face before my God in prayer,
It’s not His condemnation that I feel;
Instead, it is His love that is so real.
He fills me with a peace beyond compare.
It’s there His grace descends to cover me
As if a blanket spread across my form,
A cov’ring of His Spirit as it’s poured
Over my soul that waits expectantly.
He whispers in the quiet of the day,
And shares with me the things upon His heart –
His will He longs so deeply to impart;
Then blesses, as He sends me on my way.
It’s then I rise refreshed, renewed, restored;
Assured my sins have truly been forgiv’n,
Inspired to be a vessel fit for Him,
Knowing that in His eyes, I am adored.
“Therefore, confess your sins to one another
and pray for one another, so that you may be healed.
The urgent request of a righteous person
is very powerful in its effect.”
James 5:16 HCSB
