First Love

“Nevertheless I have somewhat against thee,
because thou hast left thy first love.”
Revelation 2:4 KJV

Back to the beginning;
Back to that first love;
Back to when my Jesus was
The One my heart was thinking of;

Back to where I started
When I first met Him;
Back to when my soul was saved,
And He forgave me of my sin;

That’s where I am headed.
It’s where I need to be
To find, again, that bond with Christ
That used to mean so much to me.

I’ll find it, spending more time
Just kneeling at His throne;
Listening when He calls my name,
And in the time I spend alone

Just searching for His wisdom;
Talking to Him in prayer;
That is where my heart should be.
Oh Lord, please lead me there!

“And [Abram] went on his journeys from the south even to Bethel,
unto the place where his tent had been at the beginning…”
Genesis 13:3 KJV
