Dear Lord, I place her hand in Thine,
For I know there is little time
Before I go.
Yes, I must leave my love behind,
Oh Lord, for just a little time;
And need to know
That You will be there, in my place
To comfort her, in Your embrace.
I love her so…
Oh, what a comfort then, to me;
My Lord, this blessed truth I see –
You love her more!
And so this promise, Lord, is mine:
That You will keep her hand in Thine;
Her heart, restore
Until I see her, once again,
There, on the golden shores of Heav’n;
To cry no more.
So, Lord, I place her hand in Thine;
Please let her know this heart of mine
Will always love her so!
“The LORD bless thee, and keep thee: The LORD make his face
shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee: The LORD
lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace.”
