Remind me, Lord, that You are there
Not only just to hear my prayer;
But with me, every step I take,
To see the choices that I make;
Not as a judge, but as my Guide;
Your strength and wisdom to provide.
In every circumstance I face,
You offer Your amazing grace.
But my own will must play a part;
To have my way, or seek Your heart.
Only when those are the same
Will my deeds glorify Your name.
So Lord, remind me You are there;
That if I bring it all in prayer,
Then in You I can overcome.
And through me Your will can be done.
"Put to death, therefore,
whatever belongs to your earthly nature...
put on the new self, which is being renewed in knowledge
in the image of its Creator."
