A Longing

“Occasionally, Lord, I just need You to thrill me!”
* Beth Moore

Sometimes, Lord, I just need You to thrill me;
To come and take me swiftly by the hand,
To see You demonstrate Your strength and power
So brilliantly that I can hardly stand!

I read oft in Your Word of mighty wonders,
Of miracles that blessed a chosen few;
And Lord, I want to know You just as they did.
I long to see that wondrous side of You.

For I know You are still the same, today –
The God who made the earth and split the sea.
So for today, I’m asking You, my Father,
If You’d display that side of You, to me.

But whether I’m amazed by power or grace,
My longing is to know You, face to face.

“LORD, I have heard of your fame;
I stand in awe of your deeds, LORD.
Repeat them in our day,
in our time make them known;
in wrath remember mercy.”
Habakkuk 3:2 NIV
