“God has a plan…He doesn’t want us to create our own,
write new lines, or change His to suit our agendas.
He just wants us to recognize and trust
that His plans are best.”
It’s not my job to help God out
And formulate a plan.
Instead I am to trust Him as
I take hold of His hand,
And follow where He leads me,
Taking one step at a time;
Carefully treading in His footprints,
Not retracing mine.
For He already knows the plan
He’s got in mind for me.
And it is both for my own good,
And His ultimate glory.
He’s proven time and time again
To be faithful and true.
So laying down my plan for His
Is what I’ve got to do.
And it’s a happy yielding, for
No longer do I bear
The burden of my future plans.
I’ve yielded them in prayer.
And I’ll rest, knowing things are best
Left to His sovereign plans.
Cuz there’s no better place than in
The hollow of His hands.
“‘For I know the plans I have for you,’ declares the Lord,
‘plans to prosper you and not to harm you,
plans to give you hope and a future.’”
