Did It Count?

Written by Lisa DeVinney on . Posted in poetry

Will anything I did today
Count for eternity?
Could anyone, through things I said,
See Christ living in me?
The time is short.  The hour is late.
The finish line's in sight.
So have I run my race, today,
With all the strength and might
That God has promised He'd supply
If I'd rely on Him?
Or did I just go through the motions
Of the day, again?
Please help me, Lord, tomorrow,
In whatever I may do,
To keep my eyes on Jesus,
With eternity in view.
"Teach us to number our days carefully…
Let the favor of the Lord our God be on us;
establish for us the work of our hands—
establish the work of our hands!"
Psalm 90:12a, 17 HCSB
