When you have really messed up
And think that God is through,
That He has thrown His hands up
And given up on you,
It’s time to read, in Joshua,
Of how God’s people found
God’s grace to take the Promised Land
The second time around.
You see, God doesn’t want us
To fail Him, in the end.
He wants to give sweet victory
To you and me, my friend.
So don’t dwell on past failures
When giv’n a second chance.
Take God up on His offer;
Don’t take that backward glance.
Step up, this time, to victory.
Learn from your past mistakes.
For our God gives do-overs,
‘Cause He’s a God of grace.
“On the tenth day of the first month the people went up from the Jordan
and camped at Gilgal on the eastern border of Jericho.”
“Now when all the Amorite kings west of the Jordan
and all the Canaanite kings along the coast heard
how the LORD had dried up the Jordan before the Israelites until they had crossed over,
their hearts melted in fear and they no longer had the courage to face the Israelites.”
