Linger Longer

“Now Moses used to take a tent and pitch it outside the camp
some distance away, calling it the tent of meeting.
Anyone inquiring of the LORD would go to the tent of meeting
outside the camp. The LORD would speak to Moses face to face,
as one speaks to a friend. Then Moses would return to the camp,
but his young aide Joshua son of Nun did not leave the tent.”
Exodus 33:7, 11 NIV (emphasis mine)
May we linger longer in
The presence of the Lord;
Spending more time with Him of
Our own willful accord;
Just getting to know Him,
Learning whom we have believed;
Building up our faith within
The grace that we receive;
Listening to His heartbeat,
Growing more and more like Him;
Shutting out distractions as
The world is pressing in;
Just a moment more,
Until He sends us on our way…
May we linger longer at
Our Father’s feet, today.
