My Dwelling Place

Written by Lisa DeVinney on . Posted in poetry

Oh Lord, You are my dwelling place;
That refuge where I go
For comfort and security,
Because You love me so.
In times of sorrow, times of joy,
And sometimes just to be,
I run into that dwelling place,
Where it’s just You and me.
It’s there that I am finally still,
Just knowing You are there;
And there You reassure me that
You hear me, and You care.
You are my dwelling place, Oh God,
And ever will You be;
For in Your righteous arms of love
I’m held, eternally.
“Lord, you have been our dwelling place
throughout all generations.”
Psalm 90:1 NIV
