A Daughter’s Prayer

Written by Lisa DeVinney on . Posted in poetry

Thanks, Lord, for the mother
That You’ve chosen, just for me.
She’s all that I could ever want
A godly mom to be!
I thank You for the gentle way
She rocked me in her arms;
And for her many tender hugs
That kept me safe and warm.
I thank You that she loved me
Through those times when I was rotten;
And ‘specially how she makes it seem
Like all that is forgotten.
And Lord, I thank You most of all
That she led me to You;
For that’s the most important job
A mother has to do!
So Lord, please bless my mom, today;
And help her, Lord, to see
That I know she’s the mother
I would someday like to be.
"A wife of noble character
who can find?
Her children arise and call her blessed;"
Proverbs 31:10, 28
