Come, Find It in Me

Written by Lisa DeVinney on . Posted in poetry

You’ve searched this world for peace –
In faces full of promise, till
The promise breaks and leave you still
In need of sweet release.

You’ve searched for peace again –
In arms outstretched to welcome you
Until they selfishly withdrew
As new trials began.

You’ve searched for peace and found
That it can be a fragile thing
In times of trial and suffering
When doubt and fear abound.

So find your peace in Me.
The peace I offer comes from hands
Pierced deep by love that understands
Exactly what you need.

And My hands won’t let go.
They’ve overcome the world for you.
They purchased peace and pardon, too,
Because I love you so.

“I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace.
In this world you will have trouble. But take heart!
I have overcome the world.”
John 16:33 NIV
