“Expect delays” was what the road-sign said.
I grumbled. I had better things to do
Than sit here in this car, out on this road;
Perhaps I should just honk a time or two.
Then, “ye have need of patience” filled my head.
I should have seen it coming, right away;
For when I get in too much of a rush,
God often sends an aptly-timed delay.
I certainly do not enjoy the hold-ups.
But I have learned it’s always for my good,
To let Him set the pace that I should follow,
And have the patience that I know I should.
So I’ll try not to grumble more today,
If there’s another setback in my way.
“For ye have need of patience,
that, after ye have done the will of God,
ye might receive the promise.”
Hebrews 10:36 (KJV)
