The Master Puzzle Worker

“When God works on the pieces of our lives,
every piece fits perfectly.”
Sharon’s post at The Thinking Log, June 4, 2015

We gathered round the table,
Dumped the puzzle pieces out;
Then for the edges and the corners
Carefully did scout.

We put the edge together first;
And then began to place
The thousand pieces where they fit
By color, size, and shape.

But when we went to place the final
Piece in that last spot,
The size and shape fit perfectly.
The color, though, did not.

After a great deal of frustration,
We found what we’d missed.
Our puzzle was symmetrical –
Another piece exists

That’s just exactly like the one
That was left, in the end.
We simply had to check the layout
For its matching friend.

And sure enough, a matching piece
Lay in the other’s space.
The color had been close enough
To not look out of place.

We switched the two, and marveled how
The puzzle was laid out -
Unique in its design, but quite
Frustrating, there’s no doubt.

And how our lives are like that too,
When things don’t seem to fit.
We sometimes try to force them in –
It doesn’t help one bit.

But when we let the Master
Puzzle Worker fit things in,
He knows where every piece belongs;
They were designed by Him.

He’ll never put one out of place.
And in the end we’ll see
That each piece He brings to our lives
Will fit in perfectly.

“being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you
will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.”   Philippians 1:6 NIV
