I’m gonna need a bigger cup, dear Lord;
For all the blessings You’ve poured out on me!
It’s filling up, and spilling o’er the rim,
Onto the saucer I placed underneath.
And, Lord, even the saucer can’t contain
The mercies You are sending new each morn;
The love that’s splashing out on those around me;
The joy that’s bubbling up, within my soul.
I’m gonna keep this cup because I know
That’s how the love of Christ is s’posed to be;
Not gathered up, and bottled in my heart;
But bubbling up, and spilling out of me.
Besides, a bigger cup would never do
To catch the blessings pouring, Lord, from You!
“Give, and it will be given to you.
A good measure, pressed down,
shaken together and running over,
will be poured into your lap."
