Don’t Forget the Battery!

(Blonde Moment…Lesson Learned)

I went to clean the church last week;
A new sweeper I found.
It looked much like the old one, so
I pushed it all around.

But I was disappointed cuz
It didn’t do a thing.
And then along came Pastor with
Some sweeper servicing.

You see, this one was different…
It had a battery.
And once it had been fully charged,
It ran just like a dream.

I couldn’t help but smile cuz
I realized right away
That I had learned a lesson from
My vacuuming, that day.

I have God’s awesome power, but
I strike out on my own
Instead of spending time recharging
At the Father’s throne.

How much more smoothly things would go
If from the very start
I’d go to Jesus, asking Him
To please recharge my heart.

“God is my strength and power,
And He makes my way perfect.”
2 Samuel 22:33
