Good Morning, Lord

Written by Lisa DeVinney on . Posted in poetry

Good morning, Lord…before I rise,
And rub the sleep out of my eyes,
I thank You for a brand new day,
To walk with You and hear You say
You love me, too; and want for me
To wait and listen, carefully.

For You already have a plan.
So as I rise, please take my hand,
And lead me, boldly, through my day.
May I be Yours, steadfast, I pray.
And then, when I lay down again -
Consider how my day has been,
My prayer is that content I’ll be,
To know I’ve served You faithfully.

“My voice shalt thou hear in the morning, O LORD;
in the morning will I direct my prayer unto thee,
and will look up.”
Psalm 5:3 KJV
