A “Yes” in Disguise

Written by Lisa DeVinney on . Posted in poetry

“What looks like a no is really
A yes in disguise.”
~ Jennifer Kennedy Dean*

When I have prayed but God’s seen fit
To answer otherwise,
It may not be a “no” from Him,
But His “yes,” in disguise.

For He looks deeper in my heart
And sees my truest need.
He’s not distracted by requests
That He must supersede;

But gets right to the heart of things -
And that’s my need for Him.
So His answer may not look like
The one I sought, within.

Instead, He’ll get hold of my heart
Till I sense His will rise.
Then there’ll be no more need to have
Those “yesses” in disguise.

“Delight yourself also in the LORD,
And He shall give you the desires of your heart.”
Psalm 37:4 NKJV

I think that everything wrote was actually very reasonable.
However, what about this? what if you typed a catchier title?
I mean, I don't wish to tell you how to run your website, but
suppose you added a post title that makes people desire more?
I mean A “Yes” in Disguise is kinda plain. You might peek at Yahoo's
front page and note how they create news titles to grab viewers to click.

You might add a video or a pic or two to grab readers interested about what you've
written. In my opinion, it would bring your blog a little bit more interesting.

Thanks for your input, Dr Dre Beats. Being very new with this website, I know I still have a lot to learn. And honestly you are an answer to prayer, as I have asked the Lord to help direct me through this process. I believe He is using you to make some very helpful suggestions. So come back and visit. And hopefully you'll see the website change and grow. :-)

Hey! I know this is kind of off topic but I was wondering which blog platform are
you using for this site? I'm getting sick and
tired of Wordpress because I've had problems with hackers and
I'm looking at options for another platform. I would be awesome if
you could point me in the direction of a good platform.

My site is done through Joomla! I'm afraid I have nothing to compare it to, as this is my first experience with a website. But I can tell you that I'm not very savvy when it comes to computers. And Joomla! has been easy for me to work with. I highly recommend it.

There is one other who know such details about your life. The God who made you also knows. And He is the one who led you here. And He's also the one who gave me the words to share. It never ceases to amaze me how God puts it all together to speak to just the right heart at just the right time.
