No Secrets

Written by Lisa DeVinney on . Posted in poetry

 “For nothing is secret that will not be revealed,
nor anything hidden that will not be known
and come to light.”
Luke 8:17 NKJV

What secret have I to hide from You;
Or what silent sin lies so far beneath
That You, my God, cannot not see and forgive?
For You have formed my every portion,
You have seen my every move,
And known my every thought.
And yet, sometimes I think
That if You truly knew the darkest part of me,
That You would not be able to love
What You would see.

But alas…You have indeed been there,
In those desolate moments;
When choices made
Must have wrenched Your aching heart.
And yet, You love me anyway;
With a love so deep, so pure, so true
That I will not hide from You any longer –
But run into Your everlasting arms
Of hope and forgiveness,
Mercy and grace;
To love, and be loved by You.

“Where can I go from Your Spirit?
Or where can I flee from Your presence?
O Lord, You have searched me and known me..“
Psalm 139:7,1 NKJV
