A Garment of Praise

Written by Lisa DeVinney on . Posted in poetry

Let us put on praise
like a fine, new garment;
one that flows
fully and freely,
wrapping ribbons of joy
around all within reach,
pulling them close to join
in the celestial celebration
of praise to the King;
a garment so pure and white
that it reflects the radiant Son,
to Whom all glory and praise belong.
And let us never grow tired
of wearing such a garment,
for it will not bind or restrain us;
but rather lift and lighten our hearts
toward the Tailor, Himself,
from whom the garment came.
Let us put on praise!
for it is fitting.
“Praise the LORD.
How good it is to sing praises to our God,
how pleasant and fitting to praise him!”
Psalm 147:1
