In Sickness and in Health

“’My thoughts are nothing like your thoughts,’ says the Lord.
‘And my ways are far beyond anything you could imagine.’”
Isaiah 55:8 NLT

When healing doesn’t come this side of Heaven,
It doesn’t mean God loves us any less;
Or that our prayers were lacking, faith was weak…
It means He chose a different way to bless.

It may not be what we had hoped or prayed for.
It may feel like He didn’t care enough
To send the healing touch we all were wanting.
But oftentimes it’s just not clear to us

How much He loves, and just what His love looks like.
We think that grace and healing are the same.
But God just doesn’t think or work like we do.
His grace is on a deeper, higher plain.

So when the healing comes through gates of Glory,
There is no struggle lost. No prayer unmet.
Instead, it means God had a better answer
That we, through tear-stained eyes, can’t see just yet.

But one day, up in Glory, we will understand
The wisdom and the love behind His will.
Until that day, friend, we can choose to trust Him,
And in the sad times, glorify Him, still.
