Resting in the Cradle of Your Arms

Written by Lisa DeVinney on . Posted in poetry

"There is no one like the God of Israel.
He rides across the heavens to help you,
across the skies in majestic splendor.
The eternal God is your refuge,
and His everlasting arms are under you..."
Deuteronomy 33:26-27a NLT

Finding time alone, with You, to pray;
Shutting out the worries of the day;
Knowing that it's here I long to stay;
I'm resting in the cradle of Your arms.

Oh, what peace that I could not afford;
Given freely, of Your own accord;
Found within the treasures of Your Word;
While resting in the cradle of Your arms.

Father, I would stay, forever, here;
Where Your words to me are sweet and clear;
Drawing closer, feeling You are near;
Just resting in the cradle of Your arms.

Father...there is naught of earthly charms
Like resting in the cradle of Your arms.
