Outrageous Grace

Written by Lisa DeVinney on . Posted in poetry

“All really is outrageous grace.”
*Ann Voskamp
outrageous grace
flung from the coffers of Heaven
upon the eager, upturned faces
of those who count it all joy
to dance before His throne
to dance
when the brilliant sunlight
bathes them
in its abundant
warmth and beauty
to dance still
in the gloomy shadow
of a gray and menacing cloud
to keep dancing
when the chilling rain
begins inevitably to fall
and to dance with abandon
when the prismic sunlight
bends those drenching rains
into promising rainbows
only grace
outrageous grace
God’s grace
inspires such dancing
as this
“And God is able to make all grace abound toward you,
that you, always having all sufficiency in all things,
may have an abundance for every good work.”
2 Corinthians 9:8
