Up at the altar they’re kneeling to pray;
Coming to Jesus, to save them, today;
Seeking forgiveness, receiving new life –
Righteousness through their new Lord, Jesus Christ.
Down by the river they’re kneeling to pray,
Being baptized, just like Jesus, today;
Showing the world that they’ve died to their sin,
Are raised up in Jesus, and live, now, for Him.
Out in the streets, they are kneeling to pray;
Ready to witness for Jesus, today;
Seeking the ones who are wounded and lost,
Leading more souls to the foot of the cross.
In a small office, they’re kneeling to pray –
Coworkers speaking of Jesus, today;
Living their lives so that others will see
Jesus in them, as they work faithfully.
And, in the homes, they are kneeling to pray -
Dads, moms, and kids seeking Jesus, today;
Looking to Him to protect and provide;
Worshipping Him as their Savior and guide.
If we would see more folks kneeling to pray,
Our country could begin healing, today.
Friend, won’t you join me? I’m down on my knees,
Asking the Lord for more pray-ers like these.
“If my people, which are called by my name,
shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face,
and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven,
and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.”
2 Chronicles 7:14 KJV
