All Creation Sings

Written by Lisa DeVinney on . Posted in poetry

“…shout for joy before the LORD, the King.
Let the sea resound, and everything in it,
the world, and all who live in it.
Let the rivers clap their hands,
let the mountains sing together for joy;
let them sing before the LORD…”
Psalm 98:6-9

Sometimes I think I hear the woodlands singing.
Sometimes the mountains lift their voice in praise.
Even the rocks cry out their “Halleluiahs!”
Before the Lord, our God, Ancient of Days.

The moon and stars then join the happy chorus.
The seas, and all that in them move and breathe,
While rolling forth a mighty verse of “Holy, Holy, Holy!”
As angels join the heavenly rhapsody.

And all creation lifts its voice together
In loudest praise, to Jesus Christ, the King.
And never could there be a greater symphony,
Then when creation joins as one, to sing.

All glory, laud, and honor to the precious Lamb;
The Lord of all, the King of kings, the Great I Am!

“You will go out in joy
and be led forth in peace;
the mountains and hills
will burst into song before you,
and all the trees of the field
will clap their hands.”
Isaiah 55:12
